Anyone have production dates yet for their Week 41 build slots? My dealership states I have a week 41 build (next week), but the phone status gives me the "Your vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed date" message.
Thanks! |

Check for the difference between "scheduled" and "on the truck". Dealerspeed.net will give them the actual Bill of Lading once it is tendered to a common carrier. Once that is done it is officially released and on its way.
On occasion the EPA/CARB certs are cleared, and the manufacturer is notified, yet they are not posted- so we may not see it post 'in real time'. In 2010 I received the cert on 10/22..yet it was cleared on 10/20 and placed on the truck on 10/20. Good Luck!

It will be very interesting to see who takes delivery of the first X5 35d.. Does anyone have a firm PCD date in writing with reservations at the Marriott? ? ?

I've been told the same thing. I believe the vehicle is done just waiting on the EPA/Carb in order to schedule the trip to SC. No firm date yet so I can't make any firm trip plans. Hoping to hear very soon!

Have any of you week 39 guys got a confirmed pick up date yet? Mine is supposed to be complete on 10/10. Should take less than two weeks to get to rhode island. Assuming the CARB bs doesn't hold the shipping back. Just wondering if this Carb delay is for real. If somebody actually gets their car next week I will breathe easier.

my car was complete on sept 28..it is paid for yet not available.. In the next election ,I will vote for the candidate that will abolish the EPA...They would not let me build a house on land that I owned in Calif. because of A kangaroo rat.....Now they won't let me have my car that I own...Wake up people WE NEED SMALLER GOVERNMENT...

Obviously today EPA/CARB offices are closed due to Columbus day celebration. We can expect something tomorrow.

While this whole car tracking thing is fun, the process is taking it's toll on my fragile patience. Another day gone and the only new piece of information is the time when my car entered production (already knew it was status 150): at 12:10 PM on October 7th. Hope tomorrow will be a better day...wonder if I'll miss this after I get the car?

Just called the 8008311117 number and it told, that my car should be ready 11th which would be tomorrow
Not sure though, when I can go and get it from the store. Ordered mine in September, think it was the 14th. |

![]() California is Beautiful.. the problem with California is the people who live there ... They allow their State Government to be the Environment Gestapo.. Orwellian even in the way their are PROUD of how Opressed and Ruled they are. BUT.. to be 50 state "compliant" we must ALL wait for their Government Enviro CZARS to approve the unchanged emisions/drivetrain from last year... I suspect a "payment" is due in the form of exorbitant "FEES" is in order from BMW to the Government extortionists...I mean Agency out there. Cali ![]()

Why blame California? Didn't BMW know how long this takes???? Haven't they done this in 2009, 2010 for those diesels, and eevry other car they make??? There is not change to the emissions, why didnt BMW submit this a month ago? If it was a matter of payola, don't you think BMW would pay the fee? But yes, I think California is way more government then we need...but that is no excuse for BMW not managing this process. A .

It is Extortion.. on a yearly basis ... plain and simple... Fees levied by government like this are Legal extortion..not payola. They are allowed by citizens who bend over for them. Unfortunately in this case it effects the other 49 states. As far as it being BMWs fault... I have dealt with Government Agencies quite often and have found that they do things in THEIR good time regardless how YOU file. You say its BMWs fault, I say you assume that it is. Government does only one thing well, legally separate its citizens from their money.

Completely agree with you Dano! And to think that CA is the 8th largest economy in the world and the state is bankrupt. They have to make their money somewhere, so why not tax everything?
Also, for the amount of money I sunk into this car, I expect BMW to be able to tell me the exact week when I can expect to have my car...isn't that the German thing to do? Last edited by nicusor123; 10-11-2011 at 05:35 AM. |

Oh, I know it's in Spartanburg but BMW is still a German company. Anyway, my point was that for the amount of money they should be able to tell us more. They should not sell the 2012 MY if they can't deliver it in under a month.

Just got a new status "released to the carrier and waiting to the port of exit"
Let's see how fast it will make it to Chicago |

While BMW's system is updated with that status, the reality is that vehicle is just sitting at the VPC awaiting the CARB/EPA certification before it is released. I'm not sure if the west coast vehicles have been sent to the VPC in (Oxnard?) CA, but if so, I'm sure they will just sit there until certification is obtained.

I guess there are two types of status massages - first one after production when it's waiting on the certificates and now the last one when it's actually say released to carrier.
This massage is the last one when everything is done and your dealer has to contact the carrier....! |

While I don't have any hard data to back this up, certification must be imminent now, a formality I would guess. So many diesels produced for the US market already...and besides this, last year certifications started coming through on October 20th (saw that in other threads on this forum).
