Fuses are good?

May want to search this forum for "final stage resistor". Those are a known failure item on these cars and may cause the symptoms you are experiencing.

If you search this forum for "final stage resistor" you will read about the symptoms and how to fix it (if that is what your problem is).

Not sure what your technician means by "the programmer". I'm assuming he means something related to the car's computer system...if so, I can't help you. You are correct in assuming the dealer will likely charge you more than you can afford. Hopefully someone on this forum can point you in the right direction.

EDIT - your fuse box is at the back of the glove compartment. There is a fuse for the A/C system. I doubt that's what your problem is but it's worth checking out...fuses 28,62 and 63 are for the A/C (I think).
