Noise coming from up front

Not really sure what it is. SOmetimes the noise continues for up to ~10 seconds after I shut the car off, sometimes it doesn't. Makes sort of a gshhhhh sound.

Could be the water pump. Not really sure though. What sort of noise would a noisy/bad water pump make?

It is normal for these cars. Here is a post on the subject from two weeks ago.

It's the HVAC damper stepper motors. Between the 0 and 1 on the fan control is what adjusts the damper opening, from positions beyond 1, the dampers are wide open. If you adjust the fan control between 0 and 1 while the car is running, you can hear the stepper motors as well. When you turn the car off, the stepper motors close the dampers, and that's why you hear the motor.

Do you have a link to the thread on that topic?

Where exactly are the HVAC damper stepper motors? how much do they cost to replace?

Also, if it is the HVAC, does it make that noise when driving? because I get that kinda noise when driving sometimes too. Sometimes not.

Can you post a video of the noise? I have a similar noise sometimes when I shut the car off, but I believe it is coolant purging from... somewhere, and then dumping into... somewhere

Check this link out from about 2 weeks ago. My car has always made that noise, does not leak coolant, and the reason we don't notice while driving is the normal road/wind noise drowns it out - my guess at least.
