Non-Staggered setup on a xi?

I have a E60 535xi with a staggered wheel setup. They are 18" OEM wheels with high performance summer tires.

A guy has offered me his original, OEM 17" wheels off his 535xi so I can use them as my winter setup.

My question is can you run a non-staggered setup on an xi? I thought xi's required a staggered setup?

Absolutely - most people actually do not know that BMW offered the staggered set up on the Xi. The most common question is actually if you can run a staggered set up on a Xi. If you want to double check if the wheels fit look for ET43 on the inside of the wheels that is the back spacing for the stock wheels. Don't forget you will also need tire sensors.
