X5 Ventilation

I have a 2011 X5. The ventalition has a terrible musty smell to it. Is there any way to get rid of this smell?

Wrong forum. But yes, there is:

Frigi-fresh.

However if you have this issue in a 2011, odds are you have an issue with your filters, or the sanitizing element in the system. There was a bulletin for this on my car. Bring the car into the dealer.

Yes - find or rent a good ozone generator and stuff it in the closed vehicle for a few hours. Viola!

Not likely to get into Bowles of vent system unless it's running.

Can you get your circ fan to run? Last vehicle that I did, I could. Tell you what - even if the fan is not running, it will still seep into everywhere.

I replaced the filter on my X5 when it developed a musty smell, but seems odd since your car is a 2011 car, but its a possibility.

1. Probably need to change the HVAC in cabin air filter.
2. I shoot Lysol into the exterior air intake near the windsheild wipers while running the fan at max speed and the circulate button on.

I would recommend you to have this thread in X5 forum as F10 is fairly new car and many people here may not have noticed this
