Winter wheel help / opinions needed

Being as picky as I am, selecting a winter wheel has been very painful process but I have narrowed my choices down to 4 and need some input /pictures or photo shop help

All I have decided for sure, is on Michelin Alpin PA3.. I think..anyone have any opinions or thoughts on these? Comfort and quiet are my first preference, lets face it, in Toronto, we get our roads cleared pretty quick after snow, so tank like traction is really not needed, MOST WINTERS! From what I have read on this tire, it suits my needs very well

Here are the wheel choices I like, keep in mind, I prefer a silver color wheel and will go with an 18 inch with 245 45 18

Let me know what you like...for the sake of simplicity, the wheels have names if you scroll over them, but lets just call them, 1,2,3 and 4 in the sequence they appear...they are all within 50.00 or each other so price is not an issue

Thank you in advance

I thought you have already done that.

Dont like any of them. Esp. the bottom one, that's X5 ...

If it's Enkei, I like the EKM3 Gunmetal ...

As for winter tires, PA3 is very good on dry road but not so good on icy, snowy road. Either Dunlop WS 3D or Bridgestone LM60 would be better. IMO.

How about this one ? Although it's similar to the 1st pic, it's the black color that I like. A fellow T.O. blogger (courtesy from 'NeedmoreHP' for the pic) just got this on.

i like the sport edition #3 the best but i would go with 17" for more comfort and less chance of damage

Yeah, I thought i did it already too...but the internet and spare time is a bad combination... I keep researching over and over again....I have never been a fan of black wheels, just my preference and I REALLY dont like universal bolt wheels with all the empty lug nut holes...YUCK

I might reconsider the rubber too...with this mild weather we have been having, I guees I am just procrastinating a bit more than normal

the 1st one is CSL (M3 replica), 2nd one is E60 5series, 3rd one is Audi S line wheel (may not fit the F10). Maybe you can check them out in person.

Based on the price quote, CSL 18" goes for $700 + HST. Reasonable price.

I don't know the shop at all. It's located very near to Vaughan Mills shopping mall.

My son has the Sport edition SE14 with the Michelin Alpin PA3 on his 135i convertable. They look great!

Copy and paste from tire rack. The link did not work.

"Performance Winter / Snow tires could best be described as a compromise between all-season and Studless Ice and Snow tires. This is due to the improved handling and higher speed ratings of Performance Winter / Snow tires over the Studless Ice and Snows. The trade-off is the winter traction is superior to that of all-season but a step below that of the Studless Ice and Snows. Performance Winter / Snow tires are for the drivers of sport sedans and sport coupes who are looking for good winter traction while maintaining dry handling. Popular Performance Winter / Snow tires include the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3, Dunlop Winter Sport 3D and Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero"

Ps. IMO Also better wet braking and resistance to hydroplaning than winter tires.

The Alpin PA3 seemed best for my sons 135i. I went with the Dunlop Winter Sport 3D on my RAV4

I also like #1 wheel maybe even better than #3.

Frankly I would decide based on their construction & quality rather than design. The only thing worse than cracking a wheel is cracking one (or two) in the middle of winter

I went with M5 replica from Simply Tire. See it here: http://www.rtxwheels.com/Wheels/RTX-OE.aspx?page=4 (name HAMBURG)
I prefer standard OEM look over any other and fancy designs..
What is good - this is direct fit, no spacers required. Also make sure they balance it using road-force (Hunter) balancer.

1. Looks good - M car styling
2. Truly looks aftermarket
3. Luxury car style
4. Belongs on a SUV

Based upon looks alone, I would pick 1 or 3.
