The official E9x OT thread!

Yea my friend posted that on his wall a couple of days ago - it's pretty cool

Ugh...my warranty/maintenance plan wore out. It went out Nov 11 and I thought it was going out in march. I wsa hoping for one last free service checkup. Kind of annoyed I didn't get a call from my BMW shop.

Now to find an authorized BMW mechanic for the serious stuff.

On a side note I found water on my passenger floor....there is a leak somewhere - probably the moon roof. Gonna take it in on Monday to get it checked out.

Our new to us Acadia has a leak too. Apparently a known issue but it has been in once for it already. Going back next week. Glad it has the CPO. Good luck with yours! If it's the moonroof, a seal replacement won't be cheap.

Found the still present leak in the rains last night that left my car dirty. An opportunity for the little one to show me she loves the car. We took her to get her passport application done this morning and she threw a fit demanding to ride in "Papa's Toot Toot" when I tried to put her in my wife's car. She also left me a hand print as a reminder.

If you didn't drive standing up with your head and shoulders out the moon roof, then maybe this wouldn't be a problem Furb. Just saying.

Check your drains, you'll have at least two of them. Best way is to open the roof, locate the drains, and slowly pour a cupful of water into each. It should end up on the ground without backing up the tube.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I was ever in Havana. It is illegal for American citizens to fly from Negril, Jamaica to Havana in a small plane. If one does though, I understand that they do not stamp your passport...

Funny how things on BF make one revisit other things. One of my classmates in Dental School was the son of Castro's personal physician when the revolution happened. The family was separated for at least a year with mom and kids making it here to Houston before the good Dr. was able to extricate himself from Castro's entourage. I remember my classmate telling some very interesting family stories. Have you ever Googled someone and had that OMG! experience?????

Yeah, every time I do I find out they are more famous than I am. It pisses me off. I'm never going to be more than Boswell was to Johnson.

DSX trivia for you: Senior term paper in English Literature- "Conversations of Johnson and Boswell at the Cheshire Cheese". Yep, I wrote an entire paper of made up chatter between these two, and among their contemporaries, while knocking back ale or meade at their local. Naturally a lot of the banter concerned the Scots or Scotland.
Some of my favorites (actual quotes from Boswell's "Life of Johnson").

"Much may be made of a Scotchman, if he be caught young."

"The noblest prospect which a Scotchman ever sees, is the high road that leads him to England!"

Boswell: "Sometimes I have been in the humour of wishing to retire to a desart." Johnson: "Sir, you have desart enough in Scotland."
Odd isn't it, that the man who invented the dictionary didn't tell his friend how to spell desert?

The motto of Scotland is "Nemo me impune lacessit" which means "At Least We Are Not Wales".
As for the haggis, you first...
(I now expect to be pilloried by both you and ///M-Rated whose roots I suspect are also in Scotland. Otherwise the skirt with the tartan print he was photographed wearing has a far more um... diverse meaning than I had imagined.)
