2012 X35i backup camera question

Does the camera come with two separate sets of lines, namely two parallel fixed lines and a separate set that "bends" as the car backs up, indicating the car's direction of travel, as is the case with the Audi Q5, for example?

I apologize if this has been covered before. Thanks to all who respond.

Richard

Yes, and those lines can be turned off or on.

2102 X3 backup camera question

Got it...and thanks.

It was nice to receive courteous answers to what may have been a simple question, which was prompted by two test drives during which the CAs said in response, (1) "No, you only get the plain view out the back without any "lines" at all," and (2) "I don't know, but suspect that if that was possible, you would see it."

Doh!

It's right in the Idrive menu. If the sales person half knew his/her job, they could have easily shown you. Sad, isn't it?

It seems there is excellence at one's job, and then there is everything else.

Putting it another way, "Good enough" rarely ever is.

BMW has a short clip of the rear-view camera on their website that shows both sets of lines. There are several others that you might find helpful.

Do you hear wind noise at slow speeds as though the window or door has not been shut completely????
[I see that you have 2012 X3. I and several other 2011 X3 owners have this wind noise].
Thanks.

First of all, thanks to all who have responded.

To DGolf, I have not yet taken possession of the car, so I can't answer the question about wind noise.

I can only hope not...I will check with the service advisers before closing the deal to see if they have had experience with that issue, as at this price point, nobody should have to. There's always the Lexus SUV(s) or Audi Q5, though Audi has had reliability problems.

Thanks again.

Richard

Can you update your experience with what the dealer says?
Thanks
