E39 Stereo Upgrade! a little help please...

Hey im new to this forum and to bmw's. Just purchased a 540ia w/ sports package and nav.

The sound system isnt the greatest and as of now im using the tape deck to hook up my phone and ipod to listen to music. but every time i use the tape deck the front driverside speaker gets no sound but when im using the radio the speaker works fine.
anyone know how to fix that or what the problem is ???

But anyways Im going to end up upgrading the sound system in the next month or 2.

and i was wondering what you guys thought of this and id apreciate feedback from people who own or have heard these ....
