F series M3 engine revealed...

OK boys & girls...
...I have this guy at BMW, known him for a long time... a real company "man", an insider's "insider" and he told me that BMW has settled on a TRI-TURBO INLINE 6 for the "F" series M3, and said it is a fire-breathing torque monster with the HP boosted real nice.

Beware AMG, CTS-V & GT500/Ford/Shelby.

You heard it 1st @ Bimmerfest

No offense, but this information has been out in the press from "company insiders" for quite awhile now.

Because until there's an official announcement from BMW it's not a definite, and until it's definite people will speculate.

Google "m3 tri-turbo" and you'll get hits from practically every BMW blog out there, dating to July 2011 and earlier.

You got that one right on. Sorry OP but lots of people already know about this.

Still think it will be a twin turbo, not tri turbo.

So I see you posted this under general BMW, F30 BMW and M3 sub-forums........As I stated before ------ This has been in the rumor mill for some time. There were some articles floating around about 4-5 months ago reporting the same thing. A tri-turbo, two being forced induction and the third an electric turbo. That being said, and no offense, there are always "inside sources" reporting allegedly factual information. Some end of being true, many not really.

...just wanted to share some news,or so I thought?
myself, still prefer some hi-tech improvement on the NA N65, if it were feasable for BMWsad to see that one go

Well, when you tell us you know of an inside insider, that's like you got the secret not everyone else knows. So, suck it up, that rumor has been out for a long time. Your insider was probably the last one to found out about the rumor. Good thing though, he was not the one who leaked the rumor. Security has ways of knowing who leaks company information by tracking those who knew about the rumor.
