Z4 Battery Bracket Adjustment

Replaced OEM battery for my 2004 Z4 with a Duralast Gold. Battery was smaller than OEM, and could not find a way for the brackets to adjust and hold the smaller battery. No additional anchor point on the left of the battery - the slide on the right would only lock down when pushed to the right. Battery would slide with the top bracket screwed in. Confirmed with Auto Zone we had the right part number for the OEM replacement.

Did I overlook something simple?

When I replaced my battery, I had to order an additional part. I needed another adapter for the right side of the battery to account for the smaller size. Apparently, BMW has two sizes, one for 70Ah batteries and the other for 50 Ah batteries. My new battery was smaller, like yours. The adapter solved my problem.

You can see it listed here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...13&hg=61&fg=30

-Eric, better late than never... and someone may be able to use this information in the future....
