Enhanced Premium Sound problem
I have a 2011 M3 with the enhanced premium sound option. Fantastic! I also own a number of DTS enhanced audio CDs. The system requires a DTS decoder in order to play these and this one plays them flawlessly, so I know it has the necessary hardware. The only problem is it will not download these to the hard drive and I have loose CDs all over the car that I can only play one at a time. It downloads "convential" CDs fine, just not these. It seems to me that if the system has the necessary hardware to decode and play the DTS CDs it should be able to download them as well. The tech at the dealer told me that the system will not download DTS, but I don't know if I believe him. Anyone have any experience with this?

When the system imports standard CDs to the internal hard drive, it's taking the stereo CD audio and converting to MP3.
It cannot compress DTS to MP3, and as such those discs can't be imported. |
