Clutch delay valve delete...

I have a 98 m3 sedan with a ltw flywheel and the cdv is getting a bit annoying. I want to remove it but don't wanna deal with bleeding the clutch. Is there any way around this or is it a must? Thanks in advance for any input.

I don't normally come into the E36 forum, but I stopped by.

Bleed it if you open the line at all. It's not worth doing half-assed. You need your clutch to work. I had air in a clutch line in a Mercury I had a while back. It sucked.

Answer is no. You remove the valve, you have to bleed the line a little... Sorry. (and you really should rremove the valve....)

and what reason is that? also how hard is it to bleed the clutch?? I think mine needs to be bled, every so often very lately, cold temps, ill go into reverse with the clutch pedal to the ground(took the stopper off) and it sounds like the gears will grind a bit... not a good sound, does this mean I need to bleed the clutch?? I assume so.

Because it's just better without a CDV.

Fine. I'll spell it out for you.

1. Read this. Yes, it applies to you.
2. If you open any hydraulic line, clutch, brakes or otherwise, bleed it. It's a pain, but it's mandatory.
3. The issue you're having doesn't sound like a clutch issue. It sounds like you may want to change your transmission oil out. You could try bleeding your clutch if you want. If it helps, great. You'll be needing to do it anyway when you remove your CDV.

It lets you slam the clutch a bit faster. I'd like to do it in mine, but I have a feeling the PO may have done it already.

If you do remove the CDV, make sure you dont Miss shift

Bleeding the clutch is a simple 5-minute job with a helper. Just keep the fluid topped off, have the helper pump the clutch pedal then hold it down, open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder for a second, close the valve, and have the helper release the clutch pedal. You might have to repeat this more than once to get all of the air out. There are tons of detailed DIY write-ups available on this topic...

The first thing I did when I get my E36 M3 was remove the CDV, a simple 'mod' that helps to keep the clutch from slipping if you decide to get on it a little. Again, tons of detailed write-ups and info on all of this. If you miss a shift / money shift the CDV isn't going to save you, ditch it and you'll be glad you did.
