E82 1M Coupe (2011 - 2012)
In many ways the spiritual successor to the E30 M3. Powered by a M derivitive of the N54 the inline six makes 340hp and giving the 1M a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds.

1 M question

Hi,

For you guys that have been keeping up with BMW, it seems to me that the current 1 M has only been around maybe a year tops. However, with the F20 1 series is out on the road already, are we expecting an F20 1 M pretty soon? How long do you think will the current 1M be on sale.

I want to get a 1M but if the F20 1M will be coming out soon, like end of 2012, then I would rather wait for a newer 1M.

Thanks.

oh cool... at least I don't even have to think about getting the current 1M anymore. Anyway, I'm hoping the F series 1 M will be out in 2 years. Not really digging the current 1 M. Feels like it was a rush producing them just to get an M before they faced out the current generation. Imo, all M should get a different engine than their same series version.

When this new M comes out it will likely be called the M2. Still a few years out though. And will most likely be a Turbo 4 Cylinder engine. The next M3 is slated for a Turbo 6 Cylinder engine.

Hey, I posted this in a thread over at the regular 1er forums, figured this was probably a better place to ask -

Is it confirmed that all/most production slots are taken? Based on wikipedia and this article (http://jonsibal.com/blog/2010/12/spe...dition-bmw-1m/), I was hoping that production was continuing longer than originally anticipated.
