RPM Fluctuating

The RPM on my 2012 X5 35i sometimes fluctuates when I first start the engine. Is this normal?

Since I don't fall into that category I can tell you that my 2012 3.5 does not fluctuate. But I only have 300 miles on the car so not sure I'm a good example

I don't regret becoming an a$$hole and I will add my 2 cents. The engine is probably reving slightly higher when first started. It then warms up and revs a tad bit lower.

I noticed that my X5's RPM jumps up and down when I just start the car...and if the A/C is on. Levels out after about 30-40 seconds.

I have a 2012 X5 35i and it does the same thing every now and then when first started. I'm not worried about it.

I've got a 2012 Premium model and have noticed the same, but in addition I'm hearing some ringing noice, almost like some metal part rubbing against another. Only happens when starting cold and goes away in about 30 sec. You guys hearing that also?

someone mentioned this might be a symptom for somthng being wrong with one of the cylinders ?

I have the N55 in an X6; it occasionally does the same thing and I was worried about it. The car runs fine before I manage to put it in gear, so i decided not to worry about it anymore.
