2008 335i - 2,500 miles - maintenance?

I just bought my first BMW - 2008 335i, manual, with only 2500 miles believe it or not. I don't think it has ever been in the shop for maintenance, recall work etc. Really like the forum (oh yhea, the car too). A couple of questions:
1) What do I need to make sure the service department does when I take it in for the first time ... Fuel pump? Software updates? Other recalls? Suggestions given the miles / age?
2) Does BMW offer an extended warranty? Should I buy it?
3) Slight rattle, noticeable, from the center lower dash on some road surfaces (near radio). Live with it or fix it?

Your car is currently under recall (BMW NA) for the high pressure fuel pump and you should bring it in to have it replaced. No cost to you, and an extended warranty applies. You should certainly consider an extended warranty if you're going to keep the car. Do research on various plans, options. Unsure if your car still has any factory warranty remaining...if so, jump on any warranty issues NOW.

2008 335i. That's the sweet spot year. You probably have a HPFP recall on it. Call the BMW dealer and give him your vin# to verify.
