What the hell if it is that easy, just ordered it too. Waiting for my email. I assume you just burn the ISO to cd-r? Been a while since I messed with ISO's, do you guys need to use ISO buster or something?

If only the Dinan software was as easy to install, I could have saved a trip to the dealer.

I order the Package also; and did this yesterday; it was really easy, and works as advertised... very quick response from dvdinmotion to get download links etc, even on xmas day took about 30 min for the links to be sent...

I purchased and installed and it works as advertised. They included the software to disable the start up disclaimer also.

I have a new disclaimer now about not relying on the drivers assistance features. Anyone seen that?

Well, the whole Control Display unlocks in motion. I use it to send Slingbox from my phone to the display. If you have a PC onboard, you can get Skype, Netflix, full Google, etc., in motion. I think voice activated Google is better than the factory dial-by-letter for safety.

Can you only use the software on one car? I would like to enable this feature on my 335d and my Z4. Thanks.

You have to supply the VIN for the car it will be installed on, so I'm 99% sure it would not work on multiple vehicles. It works very well, and is worth the price for me. Lucie, the sales rep, is very helpful and might give you some kind of discount for buying multiples...

For $150 it is absolutely well worth it. I hope they are motivated enough to keep working on other solutions for us. I requested a fix for auto start/stop, and if more people ask for this maybe they will come up with it. I wouldn't even think of trying to hack their software.

For a $170 USD price point, it would be worth it if the F10/F11 could play both Blu-Ray and DVD's.
However, I am unlikely to play old DVD's in my car or stock up on this outdated video format anytime soon. |

BluRay won't make any difference on a tiny screen. And then there is the issue of updating the BluRay encryption keys.

Sale is over, but pay in euros with PayPal and it is $154 with current exchange rates.
I can't wait to get rid of "Accept" for starters! Then the possibilities are starting to look really compelling. |

Just wondering ... how is everyone actually using this new ability to see videos while the car is moving? Is it easy enough for the driver to ignore what's going on in the screen? I think I would find it impossible to ignore. Sounds more dangerous than texting. IMHO.

Ignore the video
It is much easier for me to ignore the screen than to ignore my passenger(s). If I keep them from expecting a response from me since they are being entertained, I can easily ignore the video. Try that with a wife and you will get in real trouble.
![]() If you are that easily distracted with something that needs no interaction (texting requires a hand, phone call requires some attention and possible responses). A video requires nothing, if I want to, I can ignore the audio also, there is no response expected. I understand that a BMW can allow the speed to creep up on the driver with such a nice ride, but it only takes a little self control to ignore the video. |

Has anyone who enabled DVDinMotion ever had to reinstall it after getting service done at the dealership? I had the Global Software Update done (SI B24 02 12 / SI B12 04 12) on my 535xi and all the functionality from DVDinMotion was gone (ie. being able to look at electronic Owners Manual while in motion and the Disclaimer message was back). I reloaded the DVDinMotion and everything is back to normal. I noticed on their website in FAQ, it states a reprogram by BMW will not wipe out the functionality, but it did I guess. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

What these guys really need to do is offer other coding functions. I can see a website with a push-button menu of options. You pick what you want changed, they code it and burn a DVD and away you go.
It may not be that simple, but DVD in motion and removing the nag screens are things that people are coding through the OBDii port. FWIW DLM

I just unlocked my dvd for the cost of a $25.00 cable. You guys should really look at the coding section. It's not that hard, if I could do it anyone can. You can also do cool stuff like disable all disclaimers, etc.

^^ what he says...
Paying that website $170 bucks is outrageous! Learn coding. It's easy. |

OTOH if I could go down a list of menu items, pick what I wanted and get a CD to code for me (and one that resets everything) like these guys offer - I'd pay. Not sure how much, but I would pay for that kind of service. FWIW DLM

This is a little crazy. This can easily be coded for free or for a very nominal fee. 170 is insane.
