After market wheels BMW 740IL

I'm quite new here, I have been a BMW owner for 7 years now; my first one was a 525i 1995 then I bought a 740 Il 1999 5 years ago. Last year I bought a 2007 X5, I currently own both. Last year I decided to upgrade the 740 by purchasing a new set of flashy wheels to replace the factory ones;however, I kept getting terrible vibrations while driving mostly when I'm doing 45 mph. Despite the fact that I loved the wheels I had to remove them and go back to the original factory ones. I recently saw a set of 18" after market rims on EBAY which I like very much. Has anyone ever experienced such vibrations with the steering wheel after putting some after market wheels?
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated before I make a final decision about those awesome wheels.
