What is the $20 Wire Fee? Do they not take a Credit Card or PayPal for payment and just email the FSC Code?

They can only accept payment through a service called Moneybooker (it's similar to PayPal but does more international business). You have to create an account, and then upload funds to your account. The only way to upload to your account is through a bank transfer or a bank wire transfer. *My* bank charges $20 for the wire transfer fee (bank wire transfer from them to my Moneybooker account). You can't do it with a credit card.

The Moneybooker aspect is definitely the biggest PITA with this whole thing, but it's legit and once set up and funded it works.

If you want to order stuff from Tischer then go to their internet site www.getbmwparts.com and place your order.

They automatically give you 20% off so don't have to hunt for coupons or any stuff like that.

Your 2008 DVD-based iDrive does not require the FSC but the DVD update cost about $200 at the dealer. This thread is about the 2009+ HDD iDrive.

You should search for 2008 Map DVD downloads in the web.

$258? That's higher than the dealer charges for just the FSC Code. Who the hell quoted that?

Or, if you contacted Patryk at Bimmer-Tech as also previously advised, you would find a comparable price to FSCMap.com.

It was 199 euros from bimmertech. Which is like $258

I'm at a loss here except to say that I personally bought mine from Bimmer-Tech, and Patryk was inline with the FSCMap.com price. Even though he's in Poland, he quoted me in USD too, so something just isn't adding up.

what size DVDs are required to burn these?
I tried regular blank DVD, says file size is larger?
I do have a dual layer 25G DVD, is that what I need?
