Service Light for Oil Change

So about a week ago i was looking at the info pane and looked at the Oil Change (which said it was "OK" in green and when I doubled clicked on it it told me i had 7500 miles left to go.

This morning the Service light came on and it told me i need to get an Oil change it also said i went over 60Miles (it just came on there is no way i could have done 60 miles).

Any one experience this?

Also when i look at my breaks its telling me 25000 miles etc. are these ball park number or from the time the service was performed?

Weird. Take a picture of the current page, and schedule a service visit. it should not go from 't minus 7500' to 't plus 60' in one week. But if it is still calling for it, they should service it. (I assume you are under warranty, yes?)

The brake warning is _________ miles from NOW to WHEN IT NEEDS TO BE DONE. It is a total guesstimate, and can vary widely.

Edit: I say take a picture so that if it 'corrects itself' they won't dismiss you as nuts...you can say something is wrong with the CBS...

Oooohhh. I'd probably never take it to a dealership.

Just do 'manual' oil changes- every 7500 miles, have it changed, air fitler oil filter, etc.... don't bother troubleshooting the CBS, which is rather silly anyway.

If you don't have the time, tools or training to DIY, take it to an indie mechanic. No need to pay an extra $75 for the "privilege" of having the dealer do it.

While on vacation a couple of years ago, my oil change indicator went from around 1,800 miles to next oil change to 50 miles overdue in one 25 mile drive. I put it down to either (a) bad programming, or (b) the oil condition sensor suddenly overriding the algorithmic calculation due to it going out of the acceptable range, i.e., a bad reading from the oil condition sensor probably immediately brings the mile to next oil change to zero.
