2005 X5 misfire

My engine light came on and when i diagnosed it, cylinder 6 and 8 misfired. The vehicle idles roughly. I reset the engine light twice and it has come on again. I've been told that there may be an engine leak, is this true?

There are all kinds of things which can cause a misfire. Mine ended up being the oil separator hoses.
