Can I retrofit 535 exhaust pipe with 550?

I am pretty in-loved with my F11 535i Msport. Perfect combination between power, handling and fuel economy.
The only think I do not love are the two round tailpipes.
Last week I have seen an F11 550i and I must say that the trapezed shape tips are much better and in line with the car's design.
I looked at many threads and I am still in doubt if I can retrofit the 550i mufflers. The main doubt is about the two central pipes with the butterfly valve. How to keep them always open as the 535i does not have them. The two pipes on the 535i are both direct with no valves whatsoever. Keeping them closed I am afraid to reduce too much the gas exit while keeping them open should be the same as on the 535i mufflers. This considering that the two 535's tips together should have more or less the same diameter/area of the 4 550's pipes together. Each 535's pipe has bigger diameter than each 550's pipe.
Any suggestion or contra indication?

Would you have to get a new rear bumper as well?

I actually prefer the quad tips to the ones on the 550. I wish I could just add the black chrome quad tips and change or modify the diffuser without changing out the exhaust system as I don't want the car to be louder that what it is currently. If someone has any ideas, I am all ears.

Don't add 550i tips. That would be like having fake rolex. Instead get something unique. There are a lot of tips suppliers. I would suggest you go for Quad tips or Square Quad tips.

That's why I want to retrofit the 550i exhaust. Would be like a DateJust Rolex with a DayDate bracelet. Not a big sin IMO.

You will also need to change the diffuser then because the 535 cutout is the wrong shape.

If we have m sport then the diffuser is a simple clip on, changing shouldn't be tedious and the 550 m sport diffuser is around 80$ or so.

I've been thinking about the same thing. The only solution that I think would be feasible is to buy these tips from Cyba, and have your local exhaust shop weld them on. And, of course, you'd need the M-Sport diffuser for the 550.

I think, eventually, this is the route I'm going to go down. That or Remus.. LOL

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...ackchrome.jpg/ <--- he has them in chrome too, but I thought black chrome would go better with the M-Sport package

You can contact Cyba directly at sales@dvisionwerks.com

There are also many threads on e90post.com about these exhaust tips, I wasn't sure if it would be ok to post a link, so I refrained from doing so.

The specs are as follows: 6.7" wide (170mm), 8" long (depth) (205mm), and 2.25"inlet (57.25 mm), which, Cyba says will work with the 60mm (2.36") inlet of our mufflers tips.

Well we are not adding Rolex parts to Timex watch.... We are just enhancing the existing rolex with a better looking Rolex addons.

Marco,
Check this thread

http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=507779

Op of this thread did the same, I will try to contact him and get the details, i have a feeling that he replaced entire system rather than just the tips.
