7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

Good morning PAPER, I am glad to hear all is well with your daughter....

All you guys that lost Radio and GPS etc after window tinting. A problem that has happened to many owners here in OZ is this.

As you are aware all the antennas reside in the rear window. If you get your rear window tinted with metal particle film, which is nice and dark and will last a long time, it is guaranteed to interfere even cancel completely your cars ability to receive signals.

After my car was tinted, I lost everything. I went back to another tinter and he pointed out that you cannot use metal particle tint on the rear window for that very reason. He removed the metal particle tint, and replaced it with a special tint designed for windows that have antennas in them, and I got full radio and GPS etc all back.

So I am just wondering for those of you who have lost signal after getting the window tinted, check to see if you have had your windows tinted with the metal particle tint. It is cheaper than the correct tint that you should use on your rear window, but I know this worked for me and fixed my signal loss.
