F30 335i vs E90 335i

Hi Guys,

I'm not very familiar with the engine of the 2011 335i sedan. Did it have the same engine as the N55 in F30 335i? If not, what's the difference between the 2? Also, are we expecting BMW to put a newer engine in the 335i sometime within the F30 cycle?

Seems that the performance of the F30 328i and 335i is almost the same. I thought maybe BMW might realase a newer engine sometime to at least separate 0-60 difference between 335 and 328 by at least more than 1 second.

Yes, its the same engine as in the 2011 335i.

Lot's of discussion on potential upgrade of the 35i - here is one thread forecasting a bump in M-Sport in 2013 MY. If so, it may take a year to trickle down to the rest of the lines. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=595380

There is also discussion that the bump will come when the F32 coupe comes out. I think this is late 2013 for MY 2014. Also speculation the coupe or GT will be the only model that gets a bump, maybe call it 440i.
