bmw 645ci only blowing cold air from drivers side

my bmw 645ci 2004 is only blowing cold air from the drivers side when on full heat, the passenger side blows hot air (but not very hot) would this just be a problem with the temperature control switch or could it be something else. please help

I though my cars heat was broken too until I read the manual, and even then it was still not clear how the system works.

hi and thanks for the reply, i have tried this and the mans torso is red but still no heat, there is no heat on my body, feet or windscreen, do you think it could be a faulty temperature switch? thanks

do you have any other ideas?

It's really hard to say. It could be something to do with a sensor or the temp control unit but I would guess it is more likely a problem with the hot water valve, heater radiator or aux water pump - number 8 and number 6 in this diagram.

but if it was one of these wouldnt it affect both sides?

Both sides are affected right? Cold on driver and only slightly warm on passenger which is not normal. My guess is the aux pump is not working and only a small amount of hot engine water is making it to the heat exchanger. It could be the controls or something going on in the distribution housing too.

Hi i have just noticed that the air con only works on drivers side and not on passengers side, so to sum up i have heat on passenger side and only cold and air con on drivers??? Thanks

It's simple, just change seats to adjust your temperature.
