My BMW Remote

My BMW assit password was 5 caharacters and rep just added a 6th character and told me to wait 24 hours before I try again. I hope BMW rep knows what he is talking about.

My iPhone ap only has spaces for 4 digits ..... how many squares do you see above the numeric keys?

Changed my password because my account was locked and I was able to login about 30 mins later. Communication with the car is really slow though, about 3 mins for a response.

I dont see any squares above keyboard . What I am referring to is login for BMW Remote. It says enter user name and password for ConnectedDrive Portal, My BMW ,or BMW assist. Are you seeing this too?

OK that was the initial setup .... now the ap comes up asking for only 4 digits ... not sure if that is unique to my 4 digit password or not?

The password and the PIN are two separate and distinct items. The PIN is the user-defined local security to get into the app, much like the PIN for securing the iPhone. The password is related to the more encompassing BMW Assist account that was set-up when the car was activated. This Assist name and password has plagued owners forever and has a lot to do with the disconnect between the CA setting up the account at car delivery and BMW.

I didn't need to use caps although I was told it needs to be. Once you are successful you will need to input a 4 digit code. Further usage only requires the code to log in.

Same for me as well and it is working on both iPads and my iPhone

I know people said it works on iPhone and iPad (same account), but anyone try 2 iPhones? I am thinking to install to my wife's iPhone as well

Mine now works (using the US iTunes app) but it took lower case to make it happen. I am happy I can google from the iphone and pass it on to the car.

So the app is showing my car's location where I am...when in fact the car is about a mile away at the dealer.

What gives? Is there a "refresh"?

Thinking of making the car honk at the dealership just to screw with the service guys. LOL.

Tap the little gear shift icon top right of the screen alongside 'Vehicle Position'.

Is there any advantage to delete the UK app if is working fine on my iPhone and install the U.S.version?

That's the main feature I am waiting for. I once try to input an address to the GPS directly thru iDrive...it cannot find the street/location from the choices, but I try that feature last night using google search within the Apps and...Bam...it send it right to the GPS within a minute I send it thru my iPhone

Once the UK app updated in iTunes, I could not get the features to work. It's working fine from the US app. YMMV.

Finally got it to work after waiting about 18 hours. Works on both iPhones.

Works great, I set it up in about two minutes.

Yup...confirm that work on both mine and wife's iPhone...same account and password...nice =)

Can not figure out how to send from I phone

Anyone know how to turn up the sounds / volume on the navigation ? Thanks for your help.

When the navigation starts giving directions, just increase it using your vol knob for the radio.

I keep getting an error trying to send from Google search. Anyone else getting this? Does the car need to be on and running for it to work?
