Really? I would imagine you get a better deal if you pick off the lot, since that's the car they ordered and are wanting to sell faster.

I also agree with everything which was said here, just shot gun out via email to multiple dealers, someone will bite. When you send the emails, don't include your phone number, and do all the negotiation via email. They will try and tempt you to come into the dealership, but unless you are trading in a car, there is zero reason to actually sit down and negotiate at a desk.

PA dealers in the Philly area are also dealing with main line folks who don't have a problem paying full MSRP, so you have to work for it a bit!

Demand is the other way around. You cannot say an item is in demand when it has to be ordered and every other dealership can push the same buttons. Demand with cars is when you have a limited production or limited on hand inventory. Ordering a 2012 BMW 328i is just as easy as ordering any other BMW. You order it, BMW will build it and ship it.

Having said that, you now need to know how to beat them by their own game.

I am not going to buy from the dealers lot. Even waiting 8 to 10 weeks, I would still be one of the first few to be driving it!! Same happened with my E90 in August 2005!!
