Another roof leak.
It's raining in my car and I have found the culprit. There is a small gap where the seal for the roof meets the seal for the front window pillar. I tried tightening the roof latch but the gap remained. I can't tighten any more because it was very difficult to after the 1st adjustment. Any thoughts on what I should do?
Thanks Matt |

I have the same issue on the passenger side where the top meets the A-pillar. Even with the hooks reasonably adjusted I can see light through the gap there. There are two possible solutions others have done, depending on the gap.
One is to place a layer of black silicone on the end of the seal (on the A-pillar), covering the cone that inserts down into the seal, to make it a little thicker and close up the gap. The other is to cut a piece of rubber sheet and glue it over that area with silicone. I've read that a bicycle inner-tube works well for raw material. Just pick the method you think you need and then prop the top open for a day while the silicone dries. Last edited by dkindig; 02-23-2012 at 01:19 PM. |

Thanks. I think I have a rubber that will work for the repair.
