Have you tried using You Tube instructional vids and buying what you need from Pelican Parts? I started off paying my mechanic then watched a few You Tube vids and realized the E36 is an easy car to work on and so many people have them there are You Tube vids for anything you may want to do. I did the water pump, thermostat housing and belt pulley upgrade myself as well as changed the belts. Brakes and rotors are easy as are shocks and struts. It's easier than you think and if you have access to a garage you'll save a fortune.

Help us out, OP! Give us more details.
What problems are you having?
Where are you located? (Bayshore...?)
What kind of M3 do you have?

Some people just don't have the time or the interest/skills to solve or diagnose car problems on their own.
www.bimrs.org it's a good source for Indy shops.
