I'm seeing anywhere from a standard M3 0-60 for 4.2 secs. If this baby is supercharged then it's got to be around this or faster. Man I wish someone knew the answer to this!

Well, it's an E39 with 400hp. Depending on how much torque it has, it's likely comparable to an E39 M5.

No, it`s **an E36** M3 engine, which put out 240 HP in stock form, which is a far cry from the E46 version, which gives up another 100 HP.... IMHO, under ideal conditions, this car could probably run about even with a stock E39 M5 (which is fast enough for most people).
Looks like an interesting ride

P.S.: After reading the ad again, I noticed that the blower`s output is 7.5 psi of boost, which translates into maybe 80 REAL WORLD horsepower increase over stock, which would give a much more realistic 320 crank HP, and around 275 HP delivered to the wheels.

Estimated quarter-mile time: 13.5 seconds @ 105 mph....not too shabby for a 3800 pound car....

I don't think he left the regular breaks in for this vehicle. He spent over 60K on the car and he said this car has won shows and he can prove this with paperwork, etc. I'd doubt he left the regular stock breaks in!

You guys think it's worth bidding on? What's your take? I know the car is fresh but what about the maintenance on this speed demon?

Bulldinky....stock brakes are perfectly capable of locking `em up from any speed you choose (you just can`t do that all day long, like at the track)

And that car *ain`t* no "400 horsepower", Dude....read Post #7 again.

If this car goes as fast as claimed. Then It'll be like getting an M5 for a fraction of the cost!

Don`t even THINK about buying a car like this unless you have a good, reliable speed shop that`s experienced with forced-induction conversions. A place like this:

??????????? The Buy It Now price is $15,500 (so you can bet the reserve is banging right up against that number). There`s lots of E39 M5s around in that price range.

275 to the wheels in an e39 is probably about 14+ sec quarter.

i dyno'd 270hp 305tq to the wheels and even tho i've never taken it down the strip, i know for sure i'm nowhere near 13.5.

not to mention this guy has blinged out 19's, which aren't helping his cause

A typical, well-driven 540i 6 speed typically runs a 14.0 @ 100 mph (just about identical to my ZHP, which turned a 14.02 @ 100 flat)

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt with that 13.5....

I'd rather have the ZHP 330ci. Take both down the track and things are equal. Hit the first turn and the E39 goes weeds in.
