Thumbs up BMW Electronic Parts Catalog w/ VIN Decoder

Hi guys! Ever wanted to know what options your car had, but didn't feel like calling the dealer? Wanted to look up a part? Well worry no more, this guy from DTM power gave us a username and password to access the BMW EPC through the BMW website, meaning you can look up parts and the build sheet with your VIN.

Link for username, password, and instructions:
http://www.dtmpower.net/forum/e36-m3...n-decoder.html

Link to BMW EPC:
http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...catalogue.html

I think the build sheet that this EPC provides is exactly the same thing the dealers see

Enjoy!

Hey bro, thanks for the info. I just tried the link. However, the main page is in German (I believe). I tried clicking on every tab to see whether it would somehow give me an option to convert the page to English but I was unable to. Do you know how?

I do. It took a couple minutes but eventually I got to it. In the ASAP window, there are five grey tabs at the very top of the page.
1. Press the middle grey tab. That should translate to settings in whatever that is.
2. There are two drop down boxes. The first one should allow you to select language, while the second allows you to select the market of your car. I suggest selecting the language first before anything

I believe you are getting that message because you are entering the VIN in the ASAP window. You should be entering the last 7 digits of your VIN in the WebETK BasisFrame window. It should be one of two windows that open up when you log in. After you enter it, "Options" should one of the grey tabs that you can select above the parts search that you are brought to. The "options" tab should have your build sheet.

There's so much detail you can see in the build sheet, too. I can see the actual comments for the BMW Individual specifications

I would put the list here but the list is kind of long xD

1. Login - Two windows will open, one called ASAP and another WebETK BasisFrame.
2. Enter last 7 digits in the "Last 7 characters of VIN" section and press enter. After that, you enter a parts catalog search.
3. At that screen, look at the very top grey tabs. In order they are: WebETK Home, Internet, Options, GTC, and Help. Press "Options". You should get a list of options.
4. At the top of the list, you can expand the Vehicle Information section. If you have Individual Options, there should be a button to display that, too.
