I'd say you can take it off. I've never had a front license plate fitted to my car and my excuse when I'm stopped is that I don't have the mount to put it on. Then again I do live in the countryside and there aren't very many cops out there. It's ultimately up to you, but I would think they would just give you a warning the first time.

Way to stretch a 245 tire on an 11" wheel. Who's the idiot that actually mounted those for you? That thing must be as comfortable and as fast as a 1978 Beetle.

Congrats, you've ruined an otherwise beautiful car.

Who's the idiot? The guy that I paid to do it for me . He seemed to be pretty good at it too, used a cheetah gun and all!
Like I said, I'm not much a of a guy who cares for comfort that much, as I am ignorant of that. You clearly failed to read my other post, and I don't see why I need to be fast on the street? Unless you are one of those boys that like to speed on the streets, endangering the lives of others?

Congrats, you have succeeded in a pointless insult.

You really make yourself sound dumb. In no way does that car compare to his e39. Though, the car you just posted might not be your cup of tea, it does look like a rather well built show car.

Hi,

Narvin - good thing we modifiers are thick enough skinned ! I like you have been told to my face on numerous occasions and also my previous modified BMW's that I've 'Ruined' my car etc. It does make me laugh but other's do and are entitled to their opinion I guess! that said, this forum is very much oem only for the main part of it's contributing members. We know the other online places where it is of course the complete opposite !

Quick99si - Please could you update your sig pic to have your BMW as this is a BMW forum !!

et al - here's my 'ruined' Touring !

Cheers, Dennis!

In no way is that touring ruined. I've said it once before and I'll say it again, you have one of the best lookin' tourings I've ever seen. As for all the haters, merely state that you don't like the setup. Don't insult the man personally.

ha!
Dinanbimmer - I need royalties ! please make the cheque payable to.. lol

youngproexec - thanks for your kind words again.. however,

to both of you guys, there's other E39 tourings out there which truly are strides ahead of mine and I draw inspiration from those ones to that effect, I have a few other modifications in my garage at the moment as well as my eye on a few other bits and pieces - once those are on and done I hope you'll like the car even more !

I agree with the above too, no need for personal insults!

Cheers, Dennis!

Not going to weigh in on the look of the car, but from a purely practical minded and safety-conscious point of view, is it really advisable (i.e. safe) to drive a 4,000 lb car at 70MPH with tires that are not properly sized to the wheels? I mean, what's the condition of the seal between the rubber and the rim with a set up like that? What's going to happen during sharp cornering or a high-speed avoidance maneuver?

Show car, fine, but daily driver, I dunno.

I know I sound old, but really, I'm not

Now if Narvin came in here after dumping his car like that and starting telling everyone that it rides that same as it did at stock height, he never rubs on anything, and his car handles like a Formula One car, then I might offer a few comments south of positive.
