Nav update DVD

Do the 2011 two DVD sets (east and west) CCC work in the 2008 nav units?

Looking to update my 2008 X5 but don't want to buy something that won't function.

Yes they work fine. Just locate the ISO image files on the internet and burn at a reasonable speed on quality single layer media. Pop one in and follow the instructions. Cheers.

I see it has speed traps and red light cams, but so far I can get NAV to direct me to one, but is there a way to have those items displayed on the map at all times? Maybe I'm missing a setting, but I can't find one.

I saw cams and traps listed on the torrent also, but I honestly have no idea how to make that data visible in iDrive.

There's a lot of those items searchable, from places to eat to banks to BMW dealers, but when I pick the category, such as speed traps, it then allows me to select distance (25, 50, etc), but next screen gives me a list by closest one to navigate to.....lol, I want to stay away from, not navigate to!

In the wife's TL S type it will let you display categories of items such as gas stations, and then little icons pop up on the screen as you drive along, don't see any similar options in idrive. Oh well, like my car better than either if her Acuras.
