Question Anthracite Wood Trim

When I look at the pictures of the Anthracite Wood Trim on BMW USA it looks like a dark brown color. Is this just my eyes or does the wood really look like a dark gray or black in person? Won't be able to go to the dealer till the middle of the week.

It does look dark gray, but not black. That's why it's called anthracite, after all. I'd highly recommend visiting your dealer and looking at them in person. The configurator can be off at times.

Agreed, definitely look at it in person. It's a really unique look and pictures don't do it justice. I have it on my F10 and love it.

It looks very dark, almost black in most light, but has a dark gray appearance in direct sunlight. I had dark brown wood in my e60 and hexagon aluminum trim in 2011 f10. I like the anthracite the best. Next one (M5!) will have piano black.

Here are a couple of pics.

Anthracite wood trim is definitely more gray than the brown toned trims, but it still has some brown tone. It's more neutral overall and it's hard to describe the exact "color". It has tones of brown, olive, gray. It changes quite a bit when sunlight hits it. The horizontal grain is very visible and I also think it looks great.

What Mark said.

I looks "dark". But not any one color of "dark". Whereas dark wood looks "brown", light wood looks "tan", Anthracite looks very different depending on the light. Brown, gray, dark gray, olive, etc.

I really like it.

I would prefer the grain of the bamboo from the X5 though. Although the grain is pretty cool.
