Mein Auto: 2004 z4
z4 top not working,I can hear the motor running

Cheers,i have a 2004 z4 .top doesn't go up or down.if i prees the down button the top unlatches and windows go down and i can hear the top motor running, the roof doesn,t retract.if i press the top to close it will latch properly to the windshield frame.microswitch in the trunk works.the red pull ring is in the slotted position, but feels real stiff, sort of like it's doing nothing.top will retact by hand,no real hydrolic pressure.no evendence of a hydrolic leak.feels like the pull ring might be stuck in open position.any way to access the other end of the pull ring?,without removing the top?any suggestions??
