Need Help With Color Choice Please!!!

I know people are going to say... just buy what you like... but i would also like to hear opinions.... i'm buying a new 5.0 this week.... i want white.... BUT can't decide on the Nappa Leather color... should i go beige or black? What are your experiences?
Also, would you buy Adaptive Steering?

Thanks for any help you can give... it's a stupid question... but curious what others enjoy. Thanks,~

I think white exterior with biege interior would make it a very clean looking vehicle and not to mention very classy.

Regards to the adaptive steering, it is recommended since people have mentioned along with car magazine reviewers that the x5 steering is really heavy at low speeds.

I vote black, White w/ a black interior is awesome, also no dye transfer from jeans, never drove one with Adaptive Steering but IMO it takes all the fun out it, similiar to wearing a ____ during sex!

I just purchased in Feb and regret not having the AS for the wife - really just for parking in confined areas.

Black is a nice contrast and it picks up all of the black exterior trim pieces too. The comment about color transfer with beige is an excellent point and real consideration.
No on the steering...

I say cinnamon or beige. Black makes it hard to find things that Fall on the floor. As for the as, it is tight at first but I got used to the steering and is a trademark of bmw. Just my opinion, either way it's an awesome vehicle no matter what you choose!
Congrats!

First of all its not a stupid question.....second of all its active steering...go it??

I just got my X5 3 weeks ago. I got the Alpine white with beige interior and I love it. The beige brightens up the interior. It is so nice to drive that vehicle with that interior on a rainy day with the roof shade in the open position. Someone mentioned the dye off jeans transfering to the seats. This is very true and it dosent take long for the seats to get dirty. I have cleaned my drivers left side thigh coushion 3 times already. It comes off easy with just water. I really wanted the cinnamon interior and i think it looks the best with white, but with the cinnamon interior the only things that are cinnamon are the seats, armrest and door inserts. Go to bmwusa.com, build an X5M with the cinnamon and see the difference. If the interior was that of the X5M, I would definitly have the cinnamon. I dont like cars with black interior. As for the active steering....I would not own an X5 without it. Go drive ANY BMW with active steering and see if you like it. I absolutly love it. Especially for a vehicle of this size and weight. Its very easy to manuver that vehicle around. Not a lot of turning of the wheel required.

Good Luck and be sure to let me know what you decide.........ok???

see my thread (3 weeks, 1500 miles (pics) this is my official x5 thread)

White looks great on the X5, and I am partial to Cinnamon. I have a blue with Cinnamon - looks great. Bamboo wood if I had the choice. Now, note I also have a LeMans Blue M3 with Fox Red. People LOVE it, but probably would still buy silver on black...

As to AS. I would try it. X5 Premium steering is VERY HEAVY, its heavier than the M3 in competition mode! Maybe its the seating position, but I feel its heavier it ought to be. It also also not as quick as the M3. Latter makes sense, but I would try AS for sure.

I also wish I gotten the sport seats. That is just me, but the standard seats are too short, but then again I spend most of my time in the M3 not the X5. Probably easier for wife to get into and out of.

This car as the first every I bought without driving. She wanted it, and I like BMWs. When I drove it week later I was surprised. It's stiff - I am OK with that, tires are loud - not so OK with that, steering is heavy - again not so OK, otherwise it's cool.

I have kids and i have only owned black interior pas 6 bmw's so you know my vote. As for the Active Steering, the wife's 2007 did not have it. She drove one which had Active steering and didn't really think it was needed or she really didn't notice the difference. She has 20's(336) and liked the steering without it. Was not a $$$ issue because Active steering, nappa leather and vented seats were the only options left off. hahaha

Hey congrats you will enjoy. The question about AS is not stupid at all. It is good to ask questions like that to get feedback for all to enjoy but the color question .....well ......is stupid. Pick a color and have a great time. Also I am not the "question police" or anything like that nor do I mean to be mean.

If you want to feel like you are driving down the road in a refrigerator by all means get the white, otherwise go for either the metallic or jet black. With black interior. No classier looking car on the road.

Black is what I have. The only drawback is hot days make the black sizzle like bacon on the griddle. I just remember to keep the sunroof closed on the sunny summer days. And there is always the timed start to vent the car before you get in.

One of the many reasons why I liked my old silver Audi. It always looked good without maintenance. Vermillion Red is a pain, just like black and navy blue. Every speck of dirt is evident.

OP, I am grateful for the black interior though. I hate hate hate beige and grey interiors. They are hideous and cheapen the insides. Only other color I'd choose would be Cinnamon

I have a space gray with beige interior and anthracite roof and it grown on me! It was the car the dealer brought to the car show and the beige makes it look very spacious inside. No matter the color they all need some tlc. The my previous car had gray interior and the dirt was stillevident.

I took deliver of my 35I with the M Package a couple weeks ago. I recommend white with black interior. I think other colors will be difficult to maintain...

Couldn't agree more. If you don't mind keeping it clean, it looks very classy (IMHO). I would say no to adaptive steering. My X5 is a somewhat stiff at slow speeds, however, overall handling is great.
