How much should a M3 typically cost? E36 of course.

5-10k

It's my view that anything under about $7.5-8K is going to need a significant amount of work, though. We all know how many things there are to take care of on E36s, and when you're talking about a sub $7.5k M3, I promise it's going to have a fairly lengthy list of things needing attention. My standards are fairly high, though.

That guy belongs to m3forum.net I'm pretty sure, I think I remember seeing him on the boards when I lurked over there. I actually like the shifter although I could understand why one wouldn't. And it's nice, but priced fairly high.

I think I would dig the shifter if it was a little shorter. But otherwise, that car is clean as hell.

What the hell kinda shifter is that? $10,000 is a little much with a tore up drivers seat like that...Well not really tore up just REALLY wore out.

Yeah I was kinda iffy on the wheels anywho. I like them more on the E46 body. =/

I like those wheels, I think they look nice on an E36.


I saw the listing of the diff on bfc... Definitely seems overpriced. I'm just wondering where a 3.46 medium-case comes from. The only E36 that came with a 3.46 was the 318, and it has a small case.

Though CJ he does also mention that he has a spare set of pinion gears, so he likely built it or had it built.

Yeah, I remember I was looking into doing that, but it proved too difficult to set the backlash without special tools.

I didn't even notice the rocker panel. I was thinking a fair value would be $3500, but that's so far from his listing price I'd feel bad making the offer... Maybe I'll wait and see if it's still available after a couple of weeks.

setting backlash isnt that hard you just need to dye the ring gear and turn it making sure the pinion is making tight contact on the ring gear, if its not you have to shim it until it contacts in the middle of the ring gear .
