Air Berlin (finally) Joins oneworld - effective today

As of today, Air Berlin is officially a member of the oneworld alliance.

This greatly expands the alliance's network (and American's) in Central and Southern Europe.
Air Berlin Joins Oneworld as 11th Member

I almost flew AirBerlin from NYC last year but had to cancel out due to a family issue at the last minute. Their prices are very competitive and many of their flights use Dusseldorf as a hub as well as Berlin. I might well give them a try on my next ED and spend a couple of days in NYC on either end of the trip.

Ja, AA had a partnership with Air Berlin prior to Air Berlin's entrance to oneworld.

Wow!, this is a good deal. You could afford to go to Munich for dinner and a movie.
