BMW received two awards for the Innovative Seating Systems

BMW Group Research and Technology, received the "Best Medical Engineering Postgraduate Research Project (UK)"-award 2012 for the Innovative Seating Systems

Esfandiar Khaleghi, Seat Development Biomedical Engineer of BMW Group Research and Technology, received the " Best Medical Engineering Postgraduate Research Project (UK) and Best Presentation in Medical Engineering Postgraduate Research Project (UK)"-award 2012 for the Innovative Seating Systems .

The BMW Press are pleased to announce that the 2012 prize of the Best Medical Engineering Postgraduate Research Project and Best Presentation in Medical Engineering Postgraduate Research Project was awarded to Mr Esfandiar Khaleghi (AMIMechE), BMW Group Seat Development Biomedical Engineer, for his postgrad research project "Further Investigation of a research project "Innovative Seating Systems" " Presented in Institution of Mechanical Engineers on 29 February 2012.

The prize has been awarded by the Engineering in Medicine and Health Division of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. This competition is the foremost medical engineering student project competition in the Great Britain and provides an opportunity for students across a wide variety of disciplines to present their work.

A talented Iranian Biomedical Engineer, Esfandiar, began his research project after his success in BMW Group Co-Creation Lab as a winner for the best idea in seating systems on March 2010.

He was a university master student in Biomedical Engineering from 2009 with degrees from University of Birmingham and Amirkabir University. In his academic career he has participated over three conferences as a speaker, two papers published in peer reviewed journals.

Esfandiar joined BMW Group in 2010 as a Seat Development Biomedical Engineer. Currently in negotiation with one of the most well-known Italian car manufactures for his PhD and Research education about Interior Trims and seating systems and his future placement.
