BMW Paintwork Edge Protection Foil
Has anybody tried this BMW product to protect the edge of their doors from parking lot dings? It is about $18. I haven't had much success in finding something to protect the door edges, and uncannily the finance person didn't try to sell me something like it during that portion of the purchase.
Any help is appreciated. Here is the description from BMW's accessory store: "Designed to prevent nicks and scratches on the edges of doors and the trunk. The kit contains a transparent polyurethane film with an adhesive backing and instructions. Easy to install and no tools required. An ideal "do-it-yourself" kit for all BMW owners"

I plan on having my entire front end wrapped in this stuff. 3M makes a product that forms over the bumper, hood, etc and protects against tock chips. When professionally applied, it's nearly invisible as it's clear and form fitted. A must have if you plan on driving a lot.

I have seen that kit online before - looks like a great idea. If you get it tell me how well it works. I am tempted to apply on my car and my wife's

For those considering clear bra, I highly recommend Xpel ultimate film, it has self healing properties and by far has the lowest amount of orange peel then any other brand on the market.

+1 for Xpel, and it has better warranty than 3M and other brands (10 years vs. 5 years).
