I took the tanning machine for my first annual inspection and received the following rejection information. Not totally surprised as I am working on the car but I do think it is a crazy that the people performing this mandatory inspection also are the one offering their services to fix the problems that they find for a hefty fee. That is what we call a shakedown in my part of town. Well anyway below is the information given me.
OBD REJECTION FROM TESTING FORM> Your vehicles's On-Board Computer system is not ready to be tested or the OBD connector could not be located and cannot be tested on state approved equipment. Please note the checked box(es) below indicating what items(s) will need to be repaired/corrected before proper emissions testing can be performed on your vehicle. The On-Board Diagnostics system is not ready to make a determination regarding the condition of the pollution control systems on the vehicle. The situation must be corrected before the OBD systems can be evaluated. See your owners manual for information on OBD/Readiness driving procedures or contact your vehicles service advisor. See OBD II Monitor Readiness Status below. OBD II MONITOR READINESS STATUS Misfire - R Fuel System - R Component - R Catalyst - N Heated Catalyst - U Evaporative System - R Sec. Air System - R A/C System - U O2 Sensor - R HO2 Sensor - N EGR - U U = Unsupported, = Ready, N = Not Ready, N/A = Not Applicable Any information that will help me get the car ready for testing. Is there something that is unplugged? I checked everything. My check engine light is on. I need to get a code reader, any suggestions. The only tube that was not attached under the hood that I can find is in the attach pix. When I attached the tube I have problems, when I unattached the tube no problems in the short term. Yes I feel shame but let me know what I am to do. Oh yes. I was told that my rear control arm were loose. The Tech did a shake test and there was too much give. Having an illuminated fault light on during inspection in NJ is a mandatory fail and therefore , a waste of time to even try. You need to get the car scanned to find out exactly what the codes are and proceed from there.

Yes, thank you. Most likely most states will fail a illuminated fault light. I was kinda hoping that Mr. Tire would tell me what the codes were. I want to purchase my own code reader. Suggestions.
