Thinlines vs. White Light LEDs

Alright guys the time has come for me to get rid of the stock headlights on ym E36 and have decided on going with the DJ Autos from DDM. I'm going to stick with the RAP 35w ballast at 6000k but am unsure of what Angel Eye option I should go with, thinlines or the LED option. For those of you running either pictures and feedback on how they are performing and look is greatly appreciated. I'm in Georgia so it does get cold in the winter but snow or ice is uncommon. Thanks guys.

Orion V2 LED's from Umnitza (what I recommend)


If I was in your shoes, I would go with Depo headlights and Orion V2's from Umnitza. DDM has been problematic for a few members...

I have a 2002 BMW X5 with Depo headlights. I've had them about 1.5 years and about 1 month ago half of one AE ring flickers and sometimes on some times off. Pisses me off, considering I paid about $650 for them. The other thing I don't prefer is a blue tint to the AE's. I personally won't go with DEPO's when I get headlights for my e36.

Depo has absolutely nothing to do with the angel eyes, those are installed by the seller.

Do yourself a favor and skip the angel eyes. They're a played out trend for E36s and frequently have issues.

Thinlines look better. Can't really see them during the day but look awesome at night

^ Yea I'm leaning towards the thinlines but have heard that they have problems with the inverters for them which is why I was hesitant.

I had the thinlines and was really satisfied. Had them for aboout 5 months without a problem. Im looking to get them again for my car.

I have the the thin lines and personnally think they look great - not over done like the LED's. Got them from DDM and had problems with two of them but DDM immediately sent replacements at no charge - so all is good.

Make the E36 look cheap IMO especially on an M, but do what you will...they might look good in my rear view mirror

I think they can make it look cheap if not done right, I've seen some in the chrome headlight housing and in my mind they look atrocious but if done right I think they look really clean.

save your money on the rings and get the DEPO with FXR retrofit

Alright I've decided on what AE I want to go with but what watt ballast and temperature bulb should I go with, I heard the DDM 55W and 6K bulb is a good combo. Thoughts, pictures?

Haha it's all fair, you pay as a vendor here but I'm not about to dump about $400 into a new set of headlights. I'm not going ot be back home for a couple weeks anyway so I can afford to wait.
