Disconnect the fuel line up front and stick it in an empty water bottle. Crank the motor for 2 seconds (the bottle should be almost full) I would replace the fuel pump relay and main relay first. they are right beside the airbox in a seperate little black holder.
The main relay has 5 pins the horn relay and fuel pump relay both have 4 and you can try swapping them to see if your fuel pump works.
Those are the only relays in that little holder

(ps the M/// logo on ur car makes me want to puke a little)

lol check all your fuel lines. and if they are good maybe just needs to pump fuel so turn it over until it pumps fuel all the way to your rail..

Test light wires and see if you have amps there. Dvom is the next best thing. See if there is enough amps and volts getting there.

I do not know the 86 ES but most E30s do not have the fuel pump running until the engine turns over...it is a safety issue.

As stated above...check that you get fuel pumped into a container near the engine.
I know on my 318i M40 it is very easy to get the two fuel pipes crossed over at the throttle body...one pipe is the fuel return to the tank while the other pumps fuel from the tank.
