Pricing for Xpel---Which of these is a better option

Need input from you guys again ... I wanted to get Xpel-ultimate on my car...

Which one do you guys think is a better option

Option1: Bumper+Mirrors+Lights+Rocker Panels(Between Tire wells and 2 inches on to doors)----865$

Option2: Option1+Partial Hood+Fenders----1165$

Option3: Option1+Full Hood+Fenders---1375$

Do i have to get this done from authorized dealers only, for warranty?

These are the best prices i was able to get from a authorized dealer ... what do you guys think?

Stealth if you were reading ... I appreciate your input...

Are you located in a snow area and will you drive in the winter?

Are you leasing or how long will you keep the car?

I was in the same boat and elected with option 3. I have AW and didnt want to see the lines on the hood. not sure how noticeable since you have a darker color, but if your gonna do it you might as well.

First the pricing seems reasonable. It's about 7-8% more than what I paid.

I think you should do either option 1 or option 3.

Boils down to how much chips are an issue where you live. If chips are common then definitely get option 3. Now that my Xpel film is fully cured, nobody can tell it is there. The film is really very good. I'm glad GMBlack3 recommended it to me.

I will have a look again in the sun to see if it affects the gloss and depth of the finish. Remind me tomorrow. I'm flying home tomorrow afternoon and going straight to the detailer for a car wash when I land.

If you have rock salt and pea gravel on your roads, then definitely do Option 3. No doubt about it.

I agree!

I have the partial hood and fenders, but I live in the south. Very happy with the finish of the Xpel ultimate film.

I took a clients 08 black turbo Porsche up to get xpel installed. I suggested the full hood due to the angle of the hood. He did not want it, so went with partial hood/fenders. As soon as he saw it, he was pissed that he did not do the full hood.

Not the best example, but there is minimal orange peel with the Xpel ultimate film:

Plus if there is orange peel, it won't be noticeable because BMW factory paint has plenty of orange peel!

It will, another client with a recently purchased black F430 had just the front bumper recovered in xpel. It still has 3m on the full hood and fenders that where most likely installed when the car was new in 06. After I showed him the big difference in appearance between the two brands, he is having the hood and front fenders done in xpel. Ferrari's have OP too.

I had my front bumper, partial hood and fenders, mirrors, and rear bumper luggage area done in xpel back in December. I couldn't be happier with this product!! To date I haven't had any issues and plus it has a 10 year warranty along with self healing properties when warm water is applied.

Giving serious thought to the OP's option 1 for my 550i that I have on ED order for the end of this month. However it is a 36 month lease, and I would say that I would be open to buying the car at lease end (right now 50/50...clearly depends on market for vehicle at time of lease end and how much under the residual the bmwfs is willing to go). Is there any other justification for blowing $700-$800 on an xpel clear bra for a lease?

I think you should do option 3. I really can't tell there is film on the bumper. The finish is really superb. Plus it will save you money in polishing later on.

I wouldn't bother on a lease car. Maybe just do option 0 - just the bumper - which will cost about $350-400

None. Get a $20 touch up paint stick for this rental car. In fact the dealer accepts front end paint chips are part of normal wear and tear.

What about the bumper? That's where you're going to see the most wear since it sits perpendicular to the road.

That's the way to do it on a dark car. I just bot a used car and the guy had Xpel put on the entire front of the car like you mention. That tells me all I needed to know about how it was taken care of. In my mind anyone who does this will generally be conscious about good maintenance. I see it as a good barometer when looking for cars in the secondary market.
