BMW 6 convertible - trunk size

Guys and girls!

Need your help..

I`m planning a trip to Europe where i rent new BMW convertible (F13). But there is only one thing i always think about - trunk dimensions. Did not find any info on the web..
can u tell me - what is the max dimensions for a single luggage/bag?

would really appreciate your help.

All I can find so far is 12.3 cubic feet with the top up and 10.6 with the top down.

When the top is down, you loose about almost half of the height of the trunk space. It's not a big trunk. You can probably fit one large suitcase and a little trolley with the top up.

thanks! actually the main question is will my large bag (80/60/40 sm) will fit the trunk when the roof is up

For those interested in same question - just got info from my local dealer - they were checking dimensions especially for me.
So the widest part of the trunk is 137*32sm (L*W)
Other part of the trunk is 95*102sm (L*W)
Height is 40sm when the roof is up, and 13sm - when it is down.
Fold dimensions are 115*40sm

Be careful just using dimensions. the bigger issue is the shape of the decklid. Everything goes in on an angle.

Exactly - the trunk is massive (on the coupe at least) but it can be a sharp angle to load things in.

fully agree with you.. hopefully i won`t get this type of problem while renting the car)) can`t wait to drive it - only 10 days left

Does the convertible trunk close on its own once you get it started moving in the downward direction? I never noticed this before, but it is in the above video at 00:14. On my coupe I have to pull it with decent force (see last few seconds of video posted below) or it will close, not latch, and then pop back open - very annoying. Can someone with a convertible confirm this? Do those of you with coupes have to do the same as I just described?

The F12 trunk closes once you get it going. I latches the first time that it touches, and does not ever need to be lifted and closed again. It is weighted so that you would really need to hold it up to keep if from closing once it starts the movement. The trunk of my last 6 was the exact same. It is not a soft close, nor does it lower on its own. But you just grab the decklid, and start it downward and it closes very easily.

I'm still pissed that there isn't a button, though.

I'm uploading a video of the coupe's trunk closing to show that you really have to give it a good pull to get it to latch. If they had given us a damn button we wouldn't be having this conversation

Same on my coupe, although we usually end up pushing it closed from the top of the decklid, not just pulling on the handle fast.

I've just had to practice it a lot so I don't get fingerprints... or worse, fingers grinding pollen and dirt into the deck. If it closed after a little pull I'd be slightly more okay with the lack of auto close... but as it is

Yeah, I may or may not have an OCD seizure every time my wife closes the trunk just after having the 6er washed.

I have an OCD seizure every time someone looks at my car the wrong way.

I will measure the clear dimensions if you need that to measure your suticase and make sure it fits. Just let me know.

I just put the largest suitcase that I have in my trunk. It is 32" tall, 19" wide, and 12" deep. That is the largest suitcase sold, I think, so you should be fine with the top up. I did not try with the top down.

I should have also added that I have a 33" Rimowa Topas 4 wheel trolley that will absolutely not fit through the opening.

Mine goes in, but I would guess that if you overfill it and make it wider than 19", it won't fit. I tried it empty and it was fine.
