E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Unhappy 128i tire issue

So I have the year 1 of the 1. I am on my 4th set of tires in as many years. The last set only lasted 10K. Is there a known issue making these tires wear out fast?

You didn't indicate which tires, but I haven't heard of any 128i problem with tire wear. If the tread wear is uneven, you might have an alignment done.

My '08 128i wore out the OEM rear Goodyear NCT RFTs in about 24,000 miles. The replacement Conti DWS tires should last about 30,000 on the rear and 50,000 on the front.

Tom has more miles on his than I do on mine and his input looks sound to me. I am a little over 19K miles and my OEM tires are not down to the wear bars yet - but they are noticably worn. I figure a few more months and I'll have to buy some.
