Dead iDrive Screen!?

Started my car, iDrive screen became fully lit, as shown, which I've never seen before, lasted about 30 seconds and then went completely black. I pressed multiple buttons and restarted the car multiple times, but the fully lit screen hasn't returned and the screen has remained black. Anyone see this before!?

Same thing happened to me soon after I got my 7. Was going to take it to the dealer; however, the problem sorted itself after the car was off for a few hours. Hasn't occurred since...I figured that the computer didn't sync with all of the applications and just needed to re-boot.

Same thing happened to me once, I figured next day I would take it to service, locked the car overnight, next morning when I started it was back to normal, it's been over a year hasn't acted up ever since.

While the problem persisted throughout the day, it resolved itself overnight.

I e-mailed my service advisor the photo, inquiring into same, but haven't heard back. :|

Looks to be an anomaly, but better not happen again!
