We have a 70mph limit in the UK. Most I would ever do is 80mph if I was in a particular hurry. I value my license too much. Imagine having my Beemer on the drive and not being able to drive it. Torture.

Read through all 6 pages before I could comment. Have to agree about the differences between Germany and the US and the roads, speeds, driver quality, etc. In my many trips to Germany I have never felt uncomfortable driving above 100 mph (got up to 130 for a decent stretch). I actually get scared approaching 100 mph here (road and driver quality). Having said that, I have been driven by many "locals" in Germany and all but one were very good drivers, obeyed traffic signs and never put their or their passenger's safety in jeopardy. Funny though, the one crazy guy was driving a BMW!!! I hope he is still alive. My 2cents.
