1999 M3 For Sale, Comments Wanted
Ok chance to get a 2 owner 1999 M3 with 293K miles on it. Been owned the last 4 years by a BMW certified mechanic who works at the largest BMW dealership in the Triangle area. Suppose to drive it tomorrow. Lady driven last 4 years. Has automatic etc. Check out the ad here. What is the main thing I need to look for and what are your suggestions for an offer. She is asking 6K

A car wit almost 300k miles on it, no matter how well it has been maintained, still a big risk. Unless, of course there is physical proof of engine, suspension, cooling system AND transmission rebuilds, *at least* 100k miles ago. The price seems high to me for a car that mileage if no records.
Take it to a local BMW shop and have them run a PPI w/compression tests etc.
