E-38 front driver seat power cover buttons

A little help please. My driver side power seat cover is broke, I have a new cover and have taken everything apart except for the tilt and back / forward buttons. I can't get the control button side to pop off to get the control boxex out. Any one know how the buttons come off? I pulled up realoem.com and it looks like they should just pull off to the outside.
